The regular season has reached its defining moment.

Week 10 is where everything the CIF San Diego Section has built since August comes together. League championships are on the line, rivalry games carry even greater emotion, and every result has the potential to reshape the Open Division playoff bracket. The margin between earning a favorable postseason path and facing an uphill battle has become razor thin. There are no easy games, no second chances, and no room for complacency.

Cathedral Catholic enters the final week of the regular season with the same championship expectations that have surrounded the program from the opening kickoff. The Dons have continued demonstrating why they remain one of California's premier football programs, combining explosive offensive production with one of the section's most disciplined defenses. Their ability to stay composed in high-pressure situations has once again separated them from much of the field. Now, the challenge shifts from building momentum to carrying it into the postseason.

Lincoln remains one of the few programs capable of matching Cathedral Catholic's ceiling. The Hornets continue playing with confidence, speed, and physicality, making them one of the most dangerous teams in Southern California. Their offense has consistently produced explosive plays throughout the season, while the defense has developed into a unit capable of making game-changing stops. The Grizzlies have built one of the section's most balanced teams, consistently winning by limiting mistakes and capitalizing on opportunities. Their disciplined approach has allowed them to remain firmly in the championship conversation, and another strong performance would provide valuable momentum heading into November.

Several other programs continue battling for postseason positioning as the regular season reaches its conclusion. Carlsbad remains a dangerous contender capable of challenging anyone on its schedule, while St. Augustine continues building one of the season's strongest playoff résumés. Steele Canyon has remained true to its physical identity throughout league play, and Eastlake continues gaining confidence with each passing week. La Costa Canyon also remains firmly in the mix, understanding that one final statement victory could dramatically improve its playoff outlook.
